Meet Sheri

I used to feel
intimidated too.

Hi, I'm Sheri — a working mom of two girls, a Respiratory Therapist, and a passionate home DIYer based in South Surrey, BC.

Since 2017 I've been updating our fixer-uppers — first our townhouse, and now our detached home. I learned alongside my husband and dad, and for a long time I felt completely out of my depth. The intimidation was real.

After years of learning, making mistakes, and figuring it out room by room — I'm passionate about making sure other women don't have to feel that way. You don't need experience. You don't need a contractor. You just need someone to show you how.

Why I started Home DIYs for Busy Women

When we bought our first fixer-upper townhouse, I had zero experience. My husband was handy, my dad had always done projects around the house, but I'd never picked up a caulking gun in my life. I was a healthcare professional — I could handle a lot — but a paintbrush felt surprisingly intimidating.

"I kept waiting to feel ready. Eventually I realized the only way to feel ready was to just start."

I started small. Painted a bathroom. Fixed a drywall hole that had been staring at me for months. Caulked the baseboards. And slowly, project by project, I stopped being scared of my own house.

The transformation wasn't just in the walls — it was in me. I started to feel capable in a space where I'd always felt like I was just borrowing someone else's skills. That feeling became something I couldn't stop thinking about sharing.

That's why Home DIYs for Busy Women exists. Because there are so many women out there with a Pinterest board full of ideas and no idea where to start. Women who don't want to wait for a contractor, pay a contractor, or depend on someone else to make their home feel like theirs.

I'm not a professional contractor. I'm a mom who figured it out — and now I'm here to make sure you can too.
