I have always loved a good self-care routine. But since having kids, being consistent and efficient has become extra important for me. In today’s post, I wanted to share 5 simple self-care habits I swear by as a Mom:
Start my day with 3 deep breaths and my morning mantra
This takes less than 2 minutes. I really notice the days when I do this I feel more centered and peaceful. There are days I forget to do this, but the majority of the time I keep this habit. Trust me, it helps!
Take short breaks outside every day.
On days when I have time, I go for a 20-30 min walk, but if I don’t have time I will sit or stand outside and take several deep breaths of fresh air. This really helps keep a fresh, healthy mindset.

I stay off my phone at least 30 min before bed and read a book and journal. This has helped my sleep quality and get out thoughts and clear my head before bed.
Prioritize exercise 3- 4 times a week.
For me this is resistance training (I invested in freeweights for use at home) and jogging
A Glimpse into my morning workout routine!
Give myself grace and practice positive self-talk
We all have our good days and bad days, on days you can’t get a workout in or outside time give yourself grace and see what the next day brings. For me it’s about setting intentions and working toward goals.
I hope these self-care habits are helpful for you and doable to make your own and incorporate in your life. Self-care is different for all of us, I would love to hear your favourite small habits or hacks- especially if they are less than 5 minutes!
